Privacy policy

This policy covers the watersystemlogbook.com website and the Water System Logbook iPhone app. The short version: neither has accounts, analytics, advertising or tracking, and the records you keep in the app stay on your iPhone.

The iPhone app

Your records stay on your iPhone

Sites, operators, rounds, readings and notes are stored only on your device. The app has no account, no server and no cloud sync, and we never receive your records.

No tracking or analytics

The app doesn't collect analytics, advertising identifiers, location or usage data, and contains no third-party tracking code.

Files you choose to share

Reports (PDF and CSV) and backup files are created only when you ask for them, and go only where you send them, for example to Files, Mail or AirDrop. Backup files aren't encrypted, so store them somewhere you trust.

Subscriptions

Purchases are handled by Apple through the App Store. The app checks your subscription status with Apple; it never sees your payment details.

Reminders

Round reminders are scheduled on your iPhone as local notifications. Nothing is sent to a server.

This website

Tools and calculators

The log sheet builders and calculators run entirely in your browser. What you type into them isn't sent to us or stored anywhere, and is gone when you close the page.

No cookies, analytics or ads

The site doesn't set cookies and doesn't use analytics, advertising or tracking scripts. Fonts are served from our own domain.

Hosting

The site is hosted by Vercel. Like any web host, Vercel processes technical information about requests (such as IP address, browser type and the page requested) to deliver the site and protect it from abuse, under its own privacy policy.

Email and phone

If you contact us, we receive what you send (your email address or phone number and your message) and use it only to reply.

Children

The website and app are made for water system operators and aren't directed at children.

Changes

If this policy changes, we'll update it here and change the effective date above.
